Tender Details
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking tender responses from suitably qualified contractors to engage a contractor for undertaking civil construction work to renew road infrastructure within Mungo National Park.
The drive loop tour at Mungo is one of the primary visitor access routes within the park, leading to several visitor nodes, including the Walls of China lunette system. The alignment of the loop road traverses Lake Mungo for large sections, and due to continual wear and erosion, the top surface material has been lost. In many parts, the road surface has dropped below the surrounding ground level, leading to drainage and driveability issues, as well as exposing Aboriginal Cultural Heritage. The Drive Tour loop has been closed for an extended period to address exposed Aboriginal Cultural Heritage and is often closed following significant rainfall events.
The project includes the following: importation of required fill, forming/shaping of road sections, and recutting of existing drainage lines. All works are to be completed in alignment with the original technical specifications prepared for the construction.
