As a growing presence in Water Delivery, State Water needs to upgrade it current IT Infrastructure to address current needs and future expansion as it rolls out its Business Transformation Program over the next 2-3 years.
State Water is looking to virtualize 95% of its existing Server hardware,upgrade existing storage platforms and Ethernet links and perform P2V and V2V migrations onto a new blade server system
VMware vSphere 5 integrated with SRM will be deployed as the virtualisation software on the blade servers and will host the current application workload. The blade server solution will connect to the network switches via four 10G Ethernet links
The vendor will be responsible for delivering a solution that utilises the best of Netapp, VMware and Commvault Technology to provide a solution that delivers 4 hour recovery time while minimising day to day operations in maintaining DR/BCP/Backup workloads.
State Water is requiring a versatile, reliable and scalable modular approach. Allowing new data center expansion whilst protecting mission critical data with a full range of high availability and disaster recovery options.
Some of state Waters current hardware will be deployed to its Test\Dev site currently at Dubbo and there will be other end of life hardware decommissioned as part of this Technology Refresh.
The successful Vendor will procure all the necessary hardware platforms, provide the implementation and BCP\DR planning expertise as well as providing all required training and as built documentation.
The Vendor (under this engagement) will provide a IT management team consisting of·a Principal’s Authorised Person’s Delegate (full time ), support services (Technical, Contractual, Administration, office support etc) and any other required personnel, as outlined in the Contract Documentation
