Tender Details

The Fixed Wheel Gate (FWG) is required to isolate the dam Outlet Works from the IntakeTower (water supply). The FWG is lowered and raised by a hydraulic ram controlled from a hydraulic control cabinet situated in the top of the Intake Tower. The existing cabinet presents access restrictions for performing maintenance and repair work. It was put into service over 40 years ago and has not been overhauled or upgraded during that time. The system upgrade will include modernisation of operator controls and inbuilt system monitoring for triggering of interlocks via PLC.
