Tender Details
The RTA has been the major sponsor of Cricket NSW men’s cricket team, the RTA SpeedBlitz Blues, since 1 July 2002. The sponsorship was renewed in 2008 for a further three years through to 30 June 2011. The sponsorship is one component of the RTA’s plan to reduce road fatalities and meet the Government’s State Plan objectives.
In particular, the sponsorship aims to change driver attitudes and behaviour to speeding by making it socially unacceptable. The key target audience is males 25 years old and under, who statistics show are the group most at risk of crashing from speeding.
The RTA SpeedBlitz Blues sponsorship provides the invaluable opportunity to use the players - a well-respected, non-authoritative source - to communicate with young drivers about the consequences of speeding.
The RTA is open to considering a wide range of programs targeting young drivers aged 25 years and under that will leverage the RTA’s sponsorship of the NSW cricket team.
The successful proponent may need to work across a number of organisations including, but not limited to Cricket NSW, education agencies, the NSW Police, the RTA and various media outlets.
All tenderers must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.
