This is a federally funded project under the Nation Building Program.
This is a Quality Assurance contract.
Tenders are invited from contractors pre-qualified at Bridgeworks Class B5 or higher for the design and construction of a Pedestrian Bridge over HW9 New England Highway at Thornton. The contract involves design and construction of an approximately 38m single span pedestrian bridge and associated works in the vicinity of Avalon Drive intersection at Thornton.
The bridge designer must be selected from the RTA’s Engineering Technology list of panel contractors for bridge design.
Steel fabrication component of the work must be carried out by contractors pre-qualified with the RTA at Class SC level.
Pre-tensioned concrete component of the work must be carried out by contractors pre-qualified with the RTA at Class CC level.
The traffic control component of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA at Class G.
All tenderers must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.
A pre-tender meeting, including a site inspection, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday 21 August 2009 at the East Maitland Bowling Club, Banks Street (Corner of New England Highway), East Maitland 2323. Attendance is mandatory to submit a conforming tender.
