This is a Quality Assurance contract.
Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors at Roadworks Class R80. In addition, the contractor or sub-contractor will require prequalification B5 for bridgeworks, K10 for slip-form concrete paving of subbase and A10 for asphalt pavement. The earthworks and /or drainage componenets of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class E or D respectively or pre-qualified for Roadworks Class R2. The primary testing of the works (including sampling) must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Clas L2.
This work involves general earthworks, drainage works, asphalt pavement, lean mix concrete sub-base and bridgeworks to widen the existing freeway within the median area and other works including construction of a pedestrian bridge and civil works for a future ITS cableway.
Tenderers must comply with the NSW Government Code of Practice for Procurement.
A pre-tender meeting, including a site inspection, will be held at 10am, Tuesday 16 september 2008 at 194 Campbelltown Road, Denham Court, NSW 2565. Attendance at the pre-tender meeting and site inspection is mandatory in order to submit a conforming tender. Number of attendees are limited to 3 per company.
Tenders are to be lodged in the RTA's Tender Box, Community Relations, Ground Floor, 260 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills.

Tenderers have usually been pre-qualified, accredited, or selected for the type of work and financial range. Competitive bids called from a standing offer (panel / period) contracts would also use this type.
