Tender Details

Wyong Shire Council is a local government authority that employs 1,287 staff. Of these, approximately 819 are office-based and 468 are outdoor staff. Approximately 80 customer facing indoor staff are entitled to a compulsory corporate uniform on an annual basis. In 2008, approximately 300 indoor staff acquired corporate uniforms based on a 60% un capped rebate.

Council also provides a mandatory range of protective clothing items for outdoor staff. Items are stocked at Council’s Charmahaven and Long Jetty stores and issued to outdoor staff at induction and on an as required basis. Outdoor uniforms are compulsory for all field base staff.

Council is seeking Contractors to manufacture, supply and deliver a corporate wardrobe and protective clothing items for both indoor and outdoor staff. Both uniform ranges are to be functional, provide value for money, easily identifiable and easy to care for.

Council has a strong preference to source an Australian owned & produced corporate uniform and protective clothing range.

The intention of this request for tender is to determine if suitable companies can provide an Australian made indoor and outdoor uniform that meets the needs of Council staff. The percentage of Australian Content will be a key consideration in assessing the tender and therefore those garments and items that are made in Australia will be favoured by Council when evaluating tenders.

Contract period is for a three year duration with two optional one year extensions based on satisfactory performance. Extension periods are solely at Council’s discretion.

Pricing will be fixed for the period of the contract and only subject to annual CPI adjustments. A formal price review outside of CPI provisions maybe considered by Council in respect to pricing offered for optional extensions.
