Central Coast Council / Construction of Gross Pollutant Traps and Myrtle Brush Park, Berkeley Vale and Oleander Street, Canton Beach - CPA/264742

Supply and construct three Gross Pollutant Traps in accordance with Design Plans and Specification.  Two (2) GPT’s are proposed at Berkeley Vale, and one (1) GPT is proposed at Canton Beach   All work to be completed within 12 weeks from award of contract in a safe, cost effective and environmentally responsible manner. 

Due in part to the approximate 20km geographic separation, each site is being treated as a Separable Portion under this Contract:

• Separable Portion No.1 - Myrtle Brush Park at Berkeley Vale (2 GPT’s)

• Separable Portion No.2 - Oleander Street at Canton Beach (1 GPT)

The Contractor is expected to coordinate the construction of all GPT’s simultaneously, so the works are completed within the specified timeframe (12 weeks).

The Key Deliverables for this project include:

• Preconstruction activities and documentation
• Locate and protect utility services prior to works
• Supply and implement effective safety and environmental controls, and monitor during works.
• Remove and dispose one (1) mature Cabbage Palm tree from Canton Beach GPT site.
• Construct suitable temporary all-weather vehicular access to worksite (during works), including any necessary culverts for adequate surface water flow.
• Construct permanent all-weather vehicular access to GPT (site 1) at Berkeley Vale in accordance with the Specification and supplied Project Drawings.
• Setout works.
• Partially cut and demolish existing channel wall and floor, and other items identified in the supplied set of Project Drawings. 
• Carry out all necessary earthworks to achieve design levels for the new GPT system in accordance with the supplied set of Project Drawings. 
• Transport and disposal of waste material and excess spoil to licenced landfill or recycling facility by Contractor.
• Supply, install and maintain suitable dewatering and trench/excavation support necessary for the works.
• Supply, install and maintain suitable acid sulphate soil and water management procedures and equipment, if necessary for the works.
• Supply and construct all Concrete components for the new GPT system in accordance with the supplied set of Project Drawings, including but not limited to concrete weirs, side walls, GPT floors, pads, slabs, ramps, sumps, etc.
• Supply/Fabricate and Install all Steelwork components for the new GPT system in accordance with the supplied set of Project Drawings.
• Supply and install floating booms (Berkeley Vale GPT site only).
• Construct new permanent concrete driveway (and new kerb and gutter access) in accordance with the supplied set of Project Drawings.
• Supply and install new safety fencing and gates in accordance with the supplied set of Project Drawings.
• Restore the construction sites, storage area/s, and adjacent roadway to pre-construction condition or better.
• Supply Work as Executed drawings

No site establishment or works are permitted at the Canton Beach GPT site until 1 February 2016 due to the GPT being located within the Canton Beach Tourist Park.
