Central Coast Council / Construction of Wyong South Sewage Treatment Plant Augmentation Comprising Separble Portions - CPA/135634

This Contract is for the detailed design(where required), supply of all materials and equipment, construction, installation of equipment, testing, training and commissioning for the Wyong South Sewage Treatment Plant (WSSTP) Augmentation. The existing WSSTP comprises four (4) intermittently decanted extended aeration tanks. Two of the existing tanks are fitted with surface aerators and two with submerged jet aerators. The existing plant is to be augmented to upgrade the capacity to 72,000EP or 17.3ML/d average dry weather flow (ADWF). A new inlet works is to be constructed incorporating grit removal. The existing step screens and screen screw conveyors are to be relocated to the new inlet. Two new grit blowers and classifiers are to be provided. To achieve the required capacity two of the existing tanks are to be reconfigured to a Modified Ludzack Etinger Process each with an anoxic and aerobic zone. The reconfigured tanks are to be retrofitted with mixers anoxic zone and diffused aeration  aeration zone. Four new clarifiers and associated scum and WAS/RAS pump stations shall be constructed. Additional pipe work between the reconfigured bioreactors and the new clarifiers is required. The augmented STP will accept a maximum flow of121ML/day (7 x ADWF) and, be capable of fully treating a flow of 52ML/d. Treated effluent will be discharged to the existing dry weather pond. Waste sludge and scum will be directed to the existing sludge holding tank. The remaining two existing extended aeration tanks Nos 1 and 2 will become redundant. Dewatering, desludging, removal of built up grit and cleaning of these two tanks is included as a Separable Portion under this Contract. Allow up to 200 cubic metres of dewatered grit for disposal from each aeration tank.
