Central Coast Council / Capacity and Condition Assessment Bateau Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant - CPA 272885

Bateau Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant was constructed progressively from 1970 to 1985. This contract is for the assessment of plant hydraulic & biological capacity and condition assessment of all civil, mechanical, electrical assets. A number of civil, mechanical and electrical items at the plant have  been identified as requiring refurbishment or replacement, including the sludge dewatering plant, primary sedimentation tank,  and it has been determined that the need for an overall strategy for the site is required prior to undertaking ad-hoc replacement of existing process units which may not meet future requirements. The purpose of this professional services contract is to assess and document the plant’s biological and hydraulic capacity and identify any deficiencies as well as facilitating a risk based condition assessment of the plant in consultation with Council staff to identify a staged capital works plan to address the capacity and condition deficiencies at the site. An assessment of options and recommendation for sludge dewatering at the site is also required. The major identified works will be developed separately into concept design(s) to allow for inclusion in Council’s next IPART price determination.
