Tender Details

The services required in this engagement are:

·     develop subsurface testing methodology for SPS N1 (PAD2) and Z7 (PAD4) sites  and apply to the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) for a Preliminary Research Permit (PRP) for the subsurface testing program at the sites;

·     Arrange for hire of excavation equipment for the subsurface testing program;

·     Arrange for participation of a Ulladulla LALC representative in the subsurface testing program;

·     Obtain information on services in the area where subsurface testing is to be conducted to ensure impact on these services is avoided;

·     Following receipt of the PRP, conduct the subsurface testing field program and analyse the excavation data, including any artefacts recovered;

·     Develop management recommendations based on assessment of the cultural heritage significance of any archaeological deposits detected;

·     Prepare a draft report on the subsurface testing program to DECC requirements and submit for review;

·     Liaise with Ulladulla LALC to obtain a letter which shows its views on the report and management recommendations;

·     Prepare the final report on the subsurface testing program following receipt of comments on the draft report; and

·     Prepare a Section 90 Consent to Destroy application for submission to DECC for the construction of the augmentation works.

The subsurface testing program is to be used to determine if archaeological material occurs in the PAD areas, characterise and assess the significance of any archaeological deposit, provide management recommendations to mitigate any development impacts on identified archaeological material and obtain necessary approvals to allow the augmentation works at the SPS sites to be constructed.
