The services required in this engagement are:

1. Detailed design as follows:

Review and understand background information, in particular, the Concept Report

engineering survey and geotechnical investigation

Detailed design for the proposed STP upgrade, including (but not limited to) the following:

> a new inlet works/flow divider;
> 2 x 4000 ep intermittently decanted extended aeration tanks (IDEATs);
> conversion of existing Pasveer Channels to storm detention ponds;
> conversion of existing detention pond into a balance pond/reclaimed water storage pond;
> enlargement of two (2) existing sludge lagoons;
> chemical dosing facilities;
> tertiary filtration;
> chlorination facilities;
> on-site re-use facilities; and
> safety upgrade works.

2. Preparation of a Tender Document for a Design (to the extent specified) and construction contract (GC21) for the STP upgrade including the following:

the completion of any and all outstanding work required to produce a complete tender document;

identification of any extraordinary contract risks expected to occur in the contract and proposals describing how it is intended to address such risks in the tender document; and

preparation of the complete tender document.

The objectives of the Shoalhaven Heads STP upgrade are to provide reclaimed water quality suitable for on-going re-use in agricultural production and cater for increases in sewage loads due to short term and long term projected population increases.

A pre-tender meeting will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday 30.10.08 at the City Administrative Centre, Bridge Road, Nowra.
