NSW Health / John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct – Hotel Market Sounding - HI22665

The Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking to conduct market sounding from interested development partners to develop a hotel at the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct (JHHIP), located in the centre of the greater Hunter area of NSW. The high-quality facility will have capacity to serve patients and their families, clinicians, educators and travellers, operated by a highly regarded hotel operator. Health Infrastructure (HI) has been appointed by the HNELHD as the agency responsible for leading the Market Sounding process.

The Project vision is to develop on the JHHIP a quality ~200-bed hotel facility offering flexible accommodation to meet the current and future needs of the patients, visiting family members and visitors to the region. The facility will provide vital services for a vast range of services including step-up/step down health services, clinical suites, pharmacy, pathology, childcare, commercial and retail space.

The purpose of the Market Sounding process is to enable HI develop detailed statement of requirements of a Medi-Hotel based on the Market’s direct feedback. HI is undertaking a staged and progressive commercial transaction process, which at this stage is envisaged to include a Market Sounding process from which suitably qualified Applicants will be invited to submit a formal interest for this opportunity.

The Market Sounding process will inform a shortlist of potential industry partners that will provide input into the Medi-Hotel requirements for a future Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
