HealthShare NSW is seeking to appoint a provider of pre-employment health assessments for all candidates applying for operational roles in Patient Services and Planning (Food and Hotel Services, Food Production Units) and System Service Delivery (Patient Transport Services, Linen Services, Make Ready Services & Enable). Operational roles involve repetitive manual handling and HealthShare NSW pre-employment health assessments goals are to:
a. Assess the risk profile of each candidate
b. Match the physical capacity of candidates to the physical requirement of a role
c. Ensure a worker is safely capable of performing the inherent requirements of their role without significant risk of harm to themselves or others
Pre-employment health assessments are required for:
a. all external to HealthShare NSW preferred candidates
b. any preferred candidate in an existing HealthShare NSW role applying for another operational role, this could be the same role, different role, or change in employment category i.e. casual to permanent.
Recommendations by an independent provider help HealthShare NSW to determine if applicants are able to satisfy the inherent job requirements/ demands of the position for which they applied. No offer of employment is made until candidates have demonstrated their capacity to safely perform their role without risk of significant harm to themselves or others.
