The Project
The Purpose of this tender is to locate and contract for the supply of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for HealthShare employees, their spouses and immediate family as part of the HealthShare's obligation and commitment to provide a broad range of assistance and support services for employees.
The EAP is a professional, counselling service provided by qualified, experienced and registered counsellors and psychologists, who also act as a referral point to specialist services. The program is provided at no charge for HealthShare employees and their immediate families. HealthShare employees, their spouses and immediate family are entitled to up to three (3) counselling sessions through the HealthShare EAP.

Employee Assistance Program
The primary task is to provide for and respond to employees' requests for support and counselling in relation to personal or workplace problems.
This may include responding to a request from an employee (self referral) or if the employee is referred by their supervisor or such other responsible officer, these requests are acceptable as long as it is done so with the agreement of the person to be assisted. Participation by employees in the EAP services is always voluntary.
Core activities
Counselling is to be provided for a broad range of issues of a personal nature as well as work-related difficulties. Counselling and assistance with personal crisis situations are included in the core activities. Employees’ require access to Counselling Services 24/7. Employees will be able to access up to three (3) counselling sessions. An extension for additional sessions, if recommended by client’s counsellor, will be sought from HealthShare’s nominated EAP Contact Officer.
-In case of crisis, appointments are to be offered on the day or within 48 hours from time of client contact.
-Appointments are to be made available during core business hours, weekday evenings and/or Saturday for clients requesting these times. The provider must have the flexibility to also cater for shift workers.
-Access to a 1300 telephone number for telephone counselling. Employees’ require access to telephone Counselling Services 24/7.
-Access to after-hour’s telephone counselling (in situations of trauma or crises) is to be provided within ½ an hour, from when the call is received by the provider’s paging service. All such calls are to be reported on separately in regular reports as defined in Section 14.
