The full body x-ray scanner will be installed into an area made ready for radiation protection of staff and public in areas adjoining the scanner room.
The full body x-ray scanner will be used for non-medical full body x-ray scanning of inmates at John Morony Correctional Complex, and will generate a head to toe image of the subject though the single movement of the subject through transmission x-ray beam, and will provide CSNSW the capacity to detect and generate an image of an item of contraband (including items constructed using metallic, organic, and synthetic materials) concealed within a body cavity, or under clothing.
The x-ray scanner will be capable of scanning an inmate using a maximum dose of 0.0045 mSv (4.5µSv) per scan and generate an image of sufficient quality as to provide conclusive evidence of the presence of contraband and allow for an informed assessment of the level of threat it presents.

The Pre-tender briefing will include an inspection of the area the fully body x-ray scanner is to be installed. This will enable tenderers to understand the operating environment and identify any issues that need to be addressed in order for the full body x-ray scanner to be installed and achieve optimum performance. Details of persons intending to attend the briefing are to be provided by email to andrew.godfrey@justice.nsw.gov.au by COB21/05/18.

On arrival at John Morony Complex, drive through the boom gate and keep going straight until you come to JMCC, you can park in the car park in front of the centre (next to the roundabout) where you will be met by representative of CSNSW at the front gate of the centre
