Tender Details
The Bendeela Pipeline Control Structure is an integral part of the Shoalhaven water supply and power generation system. The control structure isolates the Bendeela Pipeline from water contained in the Bendeela Pondage in the event of an emergency thus protecting the Bendeela Power/Pumping Station from flooding. The control structure is also used to isolate the Bendeela Pipeline from the pondage for the purpose of internal pipeline inspections and maintenance.
The Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) has a policy of requiring "Double Isolations" to allow personnel entry into conduits and chambers for maintenance and inspections.
The purpose of this project is to design, fabricate and supply of the stopboards to be introduced as a new isolation system for the Bendeela Pipeline which will complement the control gate allowing double isolation of the pipeline during maintenance activities.
A mandatory tender briefing will be held on Wednesday 30 April 2008 commencing at 10:00am at the SCA Depot, Burrawang Pumping Station, Burrawang followed by a visit to the site at Bendeela.
Directions to SCA Depot, Burrawang Pumping Station. From Sydney take M5 towards Canberra, take Mittagong exit passing Mittagong township proceed to Bowral, at bottom end of township at the roundabout take Kangaloon Road, proceed along Sheep Wash Road cross the Illawara Highway, a few km down turn left into Wildes Meadow Road, proceed a few km and turn right into the SCA Depot/Burrawang Pumping Station. The meeting room is in the first building on the right.
