The Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) is responsible for managing water supply catchments, storages and conveyance systems to ensure a continuous supply of high quality raw water to its customers. These responsibilities require the SCA to carry out a water quality monitoring program consisting of a sampling and hydrometric network to measure and monitor water quality and quantity throughout the catchment areas and in the areas downstream of its dams.

The monitoring is required to manage the system for:

•           reporting obligations for Management licences;

•           operational requirements; and

•           long term data analysis and catchment management.

The SCA relies on external contractors for collection and delivery of samples on a pre-agreed schedule and testing of samples and reporting results. The samples are collected on a routine basis for regular work and on a non-routine basis for dealing with incident investigations, rain events and other unanticipated events.

The main purpose of this tender is to obtain reliable consistent services of testing laboratories for the analysis of a range of analytes on water and sediment samples delivered by SCA’s contractors, employees and other delegates, and provide results to the SCA.

The Laboratories are required to test samples and issue results and provide a range of supporting processes to ensure testing quality and a range of reports.

Companies tendering for this tender and either for one or both of Tender No T02572260, Physical, Chemical and Organic Parameters and Tender No T02581260, Biological and Algal Parameters must submit a Batching Deed on the form provided.

The initial contract period of approximately 3 years ends on 30 June 2012. The contract period may be extended by up to 2 years at the sole discretion of the SCA.
