Sydney Trains & NSW Trains / Vegetation Control Services - Facilities Maintenance - WS234321

 

Sydney Trains will be issuing an open market Request for Tender (RFT) to source one or more providers of routine vegetation control services and additional landscaping works across the Sydney Trains and NSW Trains Networks.

 

The project scope consists of 299 individual locations across six geographic regions, with the serviceable assets generally consisting of the railway station and associated supplementary sites such as signal boxes, depots and stabling yards. The Principal intends to award each successful supplier with one or more complete regions.

 

Additional vegetation control services required may include but are not limited to:

• Horticultural maintenance;

• Plant and turf supply and installation;

• Lawn mowing/slashing and aerating/coring;

• Landscape construction services;

• Pest/weed control;

• Native/water wise garden specialist/fauna attracting gardens;

• Water irrigation, installation and maintenance;

• Contract watering;

• Fence installation;

• Erosion control / environmental consulting;

• Pressure cleaning;

• Rubbish removal;

• Removal of trees, stumps and storm damaged vegetation;

• Repair after vandalism events;

Where services are required within the rail corridor, it may be necessary to schedule works to occur after hours or during mid-week or weekend possessions. Contractors will be responsible for arranging suitable worksite protection while all services are to be carried out by suitably qualified, competent persons and conform to all relevant industry standards and codes of practice.

Request for Proposals - An invitation for expressions of interest / seeking preliminary proposals. In many cases these may be used as a basis for shortlisting tenderers, along with other criteria such as expertise and experience. Prospective tenderers are initially evaluated for their proposal against the relevant selection criteria. A number of those who best meet the criteria are invited to tender. For complex or some other types of procurement, where the product or service outcomes are highly dependent on the content of the proposals received from Tenderers, the outcome may be negotiated.
