Major Works division of Sydney Trains is responsible for maintaining the rail communications infrastructure utilized by Sydney Trains to support its operations. As part of asset management responsibilities, Operational Technology section of Major Works division is required to maintain an operational copper cable network to support communications and signalling services. It has been identified that the copper cable run between Gosford and Broadmeadow requires replacement in order to maintain system integrity and quality of services supported on this infrastructure. The Gosford to Broadmeadow project will be instrumental in delivering this objective of Major Works Division..
The work under this Project is to construct a new Combined Services Route (CSR) to house copper backbone cabling to replace the existing direct buried 38 pair cable between Gosford and Broadmeadow and will be carried out in five Separable Portions (SP) as follows:
SP 1: Narara to Wyong Communications Room (84+563 to 100+800) comprising of the following Work Sections (WS):
· WS1: Narara (84+842) to Roonkana (94+890)
· WS2: Roonkana (94+890) to Tuggerah Station (98+329)
· WS3: Tuggerah Station (98+329) to Wyong Comms Room (100+763)
SP 2: Wyong Communications Room to Spring Creek (100+800to 112+909)
SP 3: Spring Creek to Eraring (112+909 to 129+048)
SP 4: Eraring to Sulphide Junction (129+048 to 153+320)
SP 5: Sulphide Junction to Broadmeadow Yard (153+320 to 162+592)
The work to be carried out under this Contract is for Separable Portion 1 (SP1) or part thereof only. Sydney Trains may, on the basis of tenders received in response to this Request for Tender (RFT), develop its own estimation of lump sum cost/s from its finalised designs for the relevant Separable Portion/s. Sydney Trains at its discretion may progressively seek lump sum quotations up to June 2018 from the successful Supplier for SP1 and/or other complying Tenderers with a view to negotiate a mutually acceptable outcome to award contract/s for Separable Portion/s SP2 to SP5.
