Sydney Trains & NSW Trains / Replacement and Upgrade of Lifts and Escalators at Woy Woy, Liverpool, Circular Quay, Hurstville and St Leonard - WS256606

Sydney Trains(Principal) is seeking tenders from experienced and suitably qualified organisations (Tenderers) who can demonstrate that they satisfy the mandatory requirements set out below and who have a proven ability to meet the Principal's requirements to undertake Replacement and Upgrade of Lifts and Escalators at Woy Woy, Liverpool, Circular Quay, Hurstville and St Leonard stations as described in Request for Tender document (RFT).

The work shall be in accordance with the existing concept designs and documentation contained in RFT and, but not limited to, the scope of works, Technical Specifications, concept designs and other documents. Work in some areas will be operational station environment with customers and staff. Work also may need to be completed during hours when the Station is not operational (generally between mid-night and dawn) or during periods of track possessions.

The work includes detailed designing, decommissioning, demolition, construction and project management services. Successful Contractor will require to coordinate with Sydney Trains’ nominated suppliers Liftronic Pty Ltd for MRL lifts and Kone Pty Ltd for escalators to supply and installation of lifts and escalators as per the draft Purchase Order provided in the RFT. Replacement and Upgrade works are divided into 5 Separable Portions for 5 stations which are:

1.     The replacement of Woy Woy Station Lift No 1 & 2. The existing lift is hydraulically operated and it is proposed to upgrade to MRL lift.

2.     The replacement of Liverpool Station Lift No 1. The existing lift is hydraulically operated and it is proposed to upgrade to MRL Lift.

3.     The replacement of Circular Quay Station Lift No 1. The existing lift is hydraulically operated and it is proposed to upgrade to MRL  Lift.

4.     The replacement of Hurstville Station Lift No 1. The existing lift is hydraulically operated small lift and it is proposed to upgrade the lift shaft with MRL 17 passenger lift.

5.      St Leonards escalator No 3 & 4 are Kone manufactured escalators and it is proposed to replace with heavy duty out door type escalators

Sydney Trains shall consider awarding more than one Separable Portion to a Tenderer, where the Tenderer has adequately demonstrated the ability to manage multiple Separable Portions concurrently.

Mandatory requirements are:

·         Tenderer’s previous experience in rail environment in similar works.

·         Tenderer’s demonstrated ability to work during the weekend and week night track possession including ability to use hi-rail with appropriate protection

·         Tenderer’s proposed Designers with Authorised Engineering Organisations status

·         Tenderer’s proposed Key personal with demonstrated working experience in operational areas similar to railway environment

·         Ability to provide Safety, Environmental, Quality and Risk Management plans for similar projects.

·         Demonstrated ability to obtain $50 million public liability insurance, $5 million professional liability insurance and contract works insurance for value of the Contract +15%.

·         Compliance with general requirements of the RFT

·         Financial capability and capacity to perform whole of the Works

 

Tenderers must note that, if successful in the Tender, all personnel work on the Sydney Trains network need to possess Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card (Previously Rail Safety Worker/Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI) Card).
