RailCorp has initiated the Traction Supply Upgrade (TSU) Project to meet the increasing power demands on its electrical network for a 100% air-conditioned passenger fleet. A number of electrical substations will be either constructed or upgraded.
One of these substations is at Campbelltown. This is a new substation, to be sited adjacent to the Macarthur Line. The substation equipment will be housed in a new Building with bunded yards.
The Contractor shall undertake all works required to construct the Substation and must ensure that its Works meet the Technical Requirements including the referenced drawings and Standards, and all other requirements of the Contract.
The worksite is located adjacent to operational tracks and is in the rail corridor. The Contractor must ensure that safe working practices are used. This will require sedulous compliance with the requirements of the Special Conditions of Contract.
The Contractor may choose to undertake particular activities during Nominated Track Possessions, when the railway electricity system is de-energised. The Contactor should program its work to gain the maximum advantage from these Possessions.
