Tender Details
The Fixing the Trains Reform Program announced 15 May 2012 by the Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian represents the biggest shakeup to the state’s railways in a generation. We want to build a world class railway that exceeds our customer’s expectations.
A critical step of the Fixing the Trains reform agenda is to examine and change the way RailCorp’s Maintenance Group does business. One of these changes was to explore the involvement of the private sector in the management of the Strathfield Rail Equipment Centre (REC).
After an Industry Briefing held on 13 December 2012, Market Sounding discussions were undertaken, aimed at improving the management of the REC business. The process was well subscribed, and a number of positive contributions have been incorporated into the revised market strategy.
The next stage of this process will be the release of a public Request for Proposal, anticipated for 19 March 2013 in RailCorp’s Ariba Spend Management system, with an associated site visit planned for 26 March 2013.
