The
Liverpool to Campbelltown areas are serviced by a compressed air system that is
used to operate train stops that form part of the RailCorp signalling system
and is critical to the reliable operation of train services.
The
air system is a critical element to the Rail Network's reliability, as a
failure to supply will result in widespread signalling failures and consequent
disruption to train services.
The
system needs to be fault tolerant to be able to withstand single and where
necessary, multiple failures without serious disruption to rail traffic. The
system shall be backed up sufficiently to be able to prevent a single failure
resulting in a major disruption. This backup shall be automatic and a failure
of the system shall be alarmed so that RailCorp maintenance staff can respond
promptly.
The
Service Provider is to develop a Strategic Plan for this air system to ensure
the system can deliver its intended function without loss of availability, and
to identify essential upgrading works required.
The
Services Provider shall perform the following Services:
Prepare a program of works that will include
project milestones and monthly forecasting.

Investigation of the

Investigate the
current configuration and condition of the Liverpool to Campbelltown Air System
producing a detailed survey and report on all air supply/line equipment in the
area, including photographs, GPS plotting and ultrasonic leak detection.

available existing drawings of the
