This purpose of this technical specification is to provide sufficient background details of the existing methods utilised by maintenance crews to enable the tenderer to develop a Design and Construct offer to mitigate and in some instances eliminate the risks of physical injury to the personnel engaged to carry out the activities associated with the manual handling of the new and used brake shoes on the number 9 and 10 brake roads at the Flemington Maintenance Centre (FMC).
In summary; RailCorp requires 2 (two) new motorised trolleys, 1 (one) new handling bin for used brake shoes and all associated batteries, charger units, spares and other related items required meet the desired project outcomes.
