RailCorp has Ticket Vending Machines located
in public areas on stations throughout the network.
There are currently a number of strategies
in operation to secure TVM against the possibility of unlawful entry by
physical attack. The machines have been shown to be vulnerable to concerted
attack by the use of tools at the hinges and locking points. It is intended to
further mitigate this risk through the use of additional physical security
measures, SM.
The project is staged under two Separable Portions. SP1 is the design, supply and installation of a Prototype; and SP2 is to supply forty approved SMs fitted to selected TVMs on a trial basis.
