Transport Asset Holding Entity of New South Wales / Circular Quay Station Precinct Upgrade - 2006/1213

Railcorp proposes to improve the amenity of the public domain areas around Circular Quay Railway Station. The improvements are intended to result in the provision of improved facilities for station staff and commuters.

It is planned to modernise the external facades of the booking office and CountryLink shopfront in line with the upgrading of the adjoining retail outlets, using glass and symonite panelling, improving station operations and staff facilities within the booking office and associated office spaces. In addition it is proposed to provide one accessible unisex toilet at the eastern end of each platform, painting soffits and walls within the access ways adjacent to the station entrances, installation of new lighting within these access ways and pigeon proofing at various locations.

These works shall be coordinated with the upgrading of RailCorp retail facilities, to be carried out by the lessees of the retail tenancies.

On site works shall be required to impact minimally on the existing station operations and allow the continued operation of the booking office, from temporary buildings. Throughout the course of the works and/or this Contract the station and station managers office are to remain fully operational. In particular, all data, security and communication facilities are to remain in operation at all times.

Works include the following areas:

• Booking Office
• CountryLink Office
• Accessible Platform Toilets
• Pigeon Control and Painting.
• Lighting within Access Ways.
• Installation of Temporary Buildings.

The successful Contractor shall co ordinate the above works with the following by others:

• The upgrading of sixteen (16) RailCorp retail facilities, including works to facades and internal fit outs.
• Modifications to SPI (Station Passenger Information System), DVA (Digital Voice Announcement System), TLS (Trail Locater System), Argus (for Railway communications) and any other RailCorp trades that may be necessary.

This Preamble is in summary form only for the convenience of Tenderers and must not be relied upon by Tenderers. It is subject to the detailed requirements in PartsA-E of this Request for Tender Document (the "RFT"). Without limitation, the proposed scope of work outlined in the RFT may be subject to amendment in accordance with Addenda issued under clause A14 of the Conditions of Tendering
