CityRail, a business group of Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) has developed a program for the maintenance of the Rail Corridor, within this programme of planned track possessions, sections of the rail corridor are closed for maintenance and generally there is little to no train movement.   This necessitates the replacement of the train services with buses.   The buses operate from the local bus stop, which in some cases do not have sufficient shelter from climatic conditions for passengers while they wait for the bus services.  The following services are required:

1.        Marquees are used at these specified locations to supply shelter.

2.        Barricades are used at these specified locations to supply distancing between people, buses and motor vehicles for the safety of the RailCorp's passengers.

3.        Light Towers are used at these specified locations to supply the additional light for the safety of passengers

RailCorp has defined requirements for the on hire basis for each of these items at the specified bus stop locations. Specific Purchase Orders will be issued stating site specific requirements based on this Specification and shall also define the delivery, temporary construction/installation and the removal of the items in accordance with RailCorp's requirements.

The purpose of this Tender therefore is to secure a suitable supplier/s, that can provide cost effective, efficient and timely services for use by passengers of the CityRail Network. The continuity of supply, and the timeliness of providing the services is critical to the services provided to customers and passengers.

Tenderers need to be aware that operational constraints may require RailCorp to provide less than the optimum amount of notice concerning the hiring of urgent requirements.  To cater for these circumstances, RailCorp requires Tenderers to clearly demonstrate their ability to secure faster turnaround in the Tender Schedule B4 Performance Period.

The Supply Agreement period is 36 months from the date of acceptance, with two optional extension of 12 months each, at the absolute discretion of RailCorp.
