Transport Asset Holding Entity of New South Wales / Civil and Building Works for Newtown Substation - 08/08072

RailCorp has initiated the Traction Supply Upgrade (TSU) Project to meet the increasing power demands on its electrical network for a 100% air-conditioned passenger fleet. A number of electrical substations will be either constructed or upgraded.

One of these substations is at Newtown. This is a new substation, to be sited adjacent to the tracks west of Newtown Station. The substation equipment will be housed in new bunded yards, and in a new building attached to the existing Sectioning Hut. The Works also include modifications to the Sectioning Hut.

The supply and installation of electrical equipment (notably transformers, rectifiers, switching equipment, circuit breakers) and hardware (notably ducting and conduits) associated with the substation will be performed by others (concurrently) and is not part of the scope of work to be performed by the Contractor.
