Rail Corporation New South Wales (“RailCorp”) is a statutory State-owned corporation constituted under the Transport Administration Act 1988 (NSW), with responsibility for the provision of passenger rail services within New South Wales.
RailCorp has three major operating groups responsible for delivering rail services, namely; Train Services, Customer Services, and Infrastructure Group. These three major operating divisions are supported by a number of corporate divisions including Corporate Finance, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Strategy, Safety, Human Resources, Corporate Counsel, Property and Communications and Sectorisation. ICT is responsible for the delivery of effective solutions to meet RailCorp’s information technology needs.
The Station Passenger Information (SPI) team, within the ICT, is responsible for installation and maintenance of all SPI projects and devices with installations geographically bounded by the RailCorp electric train network. This Tender is for the establishment of a Priced Panel of providers for installation works mainly for SPI, including:
i) design, manufacture and installation of brackets for indicators,
ii) installation of platform indicators and associated equipment,
iii) installation of concourse indicators and associated equipment,
iv) installation of clocks, installation of rack and associated equipment,
v) installation of Train Information Screens (TIS),
vi) supply and install fibre patch cables to equipment,
vii) terminate power cable, remove existing indicators,
viii) minor building works, and
ix) assist in the commissioning.
A panel of up to four organisations (the “Panel”) will be formed for the Services. The final number of Panel Members shall be at the sole discretion of RailCorp.
Separate briefs or scope of services will be issued for individual projects and the paid based on the schedule of rate items tendered. Details of the operation of the Panel is given in section E1, Part E. The Registrants must note that the panel is a priced panel and the lowest priced registrant will be the first preferred registrant and likely to receive more work. The Services will be required over a period of two (2) years with an option to extend by two 12 month periods at the discretion of RailCorp.
A Registrant’s briefing session and site visits will be held on 28th January 2009 from 09:30 to 11:30hours meeting at Station Manager Office (Next to ‘Hungry Jacks’), Central Station, Sydney (Recently upgraded site example), then proceeding to Fairfield station (Green site example) to meet from 13:00 to 15:00 hours. It is highly recommended that all the prospective Registrants attend the briefing sessions and the site visit.
Tender are to note that the Generic Drawings referred to in the tender document Part E, will be issued to prospective Tenderers following the briefing session on execution of a confidentiality deed.
