Tender Details

RailCorp operates a high voltage AC network in which the nominal voltages are 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and 132kV together with a 1500V DC network which supplies power for electric traction.

A recent physical investigation and inspection of RailCorp substations within the Greater Metropolitan area bounded by Moss Vale, Morisset, Lithgow and Nowra, that some Rectifier Transformers in the system require overhaul.

As part of a systems improvement program through the railway infrastructure, these Rectifier Transformers are to be subject to a maintenance overhaul program so that their service life and performance may be extended. The purpose of this maintenance is to increase reliability to the RailCorp electrical system.

The Rectifier Transformers under review are nominally four MVA with primary voltages of 33kV or 66kV, and a secondary voltage as indicated in Appendix D1, Table 1.

From the analysis of monitoring to date together with the above mentioned investigation and inspection report, the scope of the overhaul to be undertaken within this Specification for individual Rectifier Transformers was determined. Additional work may be identified during Overhaul and will be subject to review and approval by RailCorp.
