The demand mental health support in the work place has increased. By enabling workers to have access to mental health program like Mindarma has seen benefits including improved productivity, decreased absenteeism, decreased workers compensation claims, decreased staff turnover. Mindarma program has been offered to DCJ staff since 2021 and 2022. Renewing the program for 2023 enables workers to continue with their current flexible access and reach out to more staff. Renewing the program avoids the costs involved in the procurement process of an alter program that may not have been tested or have the support of institutes like Black Dog and the University of NSW Sydney.

Mindarma offers a Webinar series to support the online learning program. The webinar programs includes:

• Encouragement to complete Mindarma’s award-winning online program over a 1-month challenge period including webinars

• During the year webinars are delivered by an experienced senior facilitator

• Learners discover about the science of resilience and gain insights

about the skills they learn in upcoming program sessions

• Each webinar includes time for a brief Q&A,

• Participant numbers are not limited and webinars may be recorded for convenient later access

• Provision of promotional materials to help raise awareness, encourage participation and support your challenge

 

Mindarma is fully online program. Mindarma have the IT capability to implement immediately.

Mindarma has been running for 2021-22 and this renewal for 2023 will see it continue as one of the key Safety and Wellbeing programs aimed at preventing mental health issues amongst DCJ workers. The program forms part of a suite of programs and services that contribute to achieving the key performance indicators as identified in the DCJ Wellbeing Strategy. Key performance indicators include;

· 2% increase in staff reporting that they felt supported in the workplace where they experience a mental health challenge in the previous 12 months measured through PMES survey in 2022 compared to 2020 results

· 2% increase in staff reporting that they felt supported in the workplace where they experience a mental health challenge in the previous 12 months. Measured through PMES survey in 2023 compared to 2022 results.

· 2% increase in DCJ staff reporting in PMES survey in 2022 that the organisation cares about their wellbeing compared to 2020 results

· 2% increase in DCJ staff reporting in PMES survey in 2023 that the organisation cares about their wellbeing compared to 2022 results

· 2% increase in DCJ staff accessing EAP services by July 2023
