NSW Department of Communities and Justice / Indigenous Family Violence Partnership Program. (IFVPP Review) - AGD 2009/3

The NSW Attorney General’s Department (the Department) is seeking proposals from suitably qualified consultants to undertake the external review of the Indigenous Family Violence Partnership Project (IFVPP) “Conflict Awareness Training in Aboriginal Communities”.

The review will need to meet the following objectives.

 

§        Provide an independent review of the CJC’s IFVPP

§        Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the CJC’s IFVPP

§        Determine if the IFVPP furthered the objectives of the FVPP

§        Provide feedback on the appropriateness of the selection of the communities in which the CJC conducted the training programs

§        Determine if the training program met its objectives and achieved the learning outcomes

§        Determine if attendees increased their recognition and control of their own disputes and further developed their own individual and community strategies to recognise and deal with disputing behaviour through conflict management and facilitation

§        Determine if attendees have a greater awareness of conflict management, facilitation and mediation services provided by CJC to Aboriginal communities by Aboriginal mediators

§        Determine if attendees have made use of the strategies covered in the training program by taking appropriate courses of action before disputing behaviours developed into violence

§        Determine if community Elders are more involved in addressing community disputes as a result of the IFVPP

§        Provide recommendations on delivering training in the communities where the training program did not proceed

§        Provide viable proposals for improving the IFVPP and the training program
