Tender Details

The NSW Department of Housing is calling for tenders from suitably qualified companies or organisations to service smoke alarms installed in public housing in the areas of Inner City and Inner West; Eastern and Southern Sydney; and Northern Sydney.

The Department intends to award up to three separate contracts were available to companies and organisations who are qualified to inspect, service and repair smoke alarms and who are willing to attend a mandatory briefing session organised by the Department of Housing.

The Department of Housing has installed hard-wired smoke alarms to each of its 130,000 properties across NSW.

The alarms are wired to the 240 V mains power and have a self-charging, sealed battery back-up, in the event of a power failure.

The successful tenderer/s will be responsible for continuing the Departments program of inspecting and servicing each smoke alarm every 12 months, as well as the Departments ongoing alarm replacement program in Central Sydney Division.

The Department will actively monitor the performance of all contractors engaged to inspect and service smoke alarms.

The proposed Contract Period is for a initial 2 years, with options to extend at the Departments discretion, based on quarterly and annual reviews.

Responses to the EOI must be submitted in the prescribed form by 10am 14th November 2006

A Mandatory briefing session is planned in Sydney, on the 25th October 2006. Registration for these sessions must be made beforehand by contacting Sam Mesite on 9268 3530.

The single briefing session will be held in the Department of Housing Meeting room Sirius Building 44 Cumberland St The Rocks. Attendance at this briefing sessions is mandatory for all contractors who wish to submit a Tender.
