This early works contract is to support the Newell Highway Upgrade – Parkes Bypass project and is specifically for the relocation and installation of low voltage (LV) electrical and underground signal assets in the rail corridor about 650m east of Goobang Junction Train Station, Parkes NSW.
The Work Under the Contract (WUC) is within the rail corridor and is to be carried out in accordance with the Rail Authority requirements. The Contractor is required to be at least a level 2 ARTC competency to complete WUC.
Access for your WUC in the Rail Authority’s property falls under the provisions of the Rail Authority’s Lease (‘Head Lease’) with Transport for NSW (TfNSW)and as permitted in accordance with the Rail Authority’s response to TfNSW’s Notice of Lessor’s Works.
The WUC to be undertaken in the Railway Corridor includes:
• relocation of ARTC signal service relocation, including two main underground cable routes, one recently installed as part of the Inland Rail project.
The scope of work under this contract includes:
• site investigation and familiarisation
• site establishment and disestablishment
• supply and installation of electrical and signal works including backfill and reinstatement, plant and equipment, temporary works, materials in accordance with approved ARTC design drawings
• demolition, removal, and disposal of redundant assets
• supply of all permanent and temporary materials, labour, plant, equipment and resources required to complete the works in accordance with ARTC and TfNSW certification
• liaison with ARTC
• testing and commissioning of newly installed assets
• preparation and supply of Work as Executed (WAE) drawings
• managing electrical outages in consultation with Essential Energy and adjoining industrial and residential customers if needed.
• development of management systems and implementation during the work under the contract
• environmental protection
• work health and safety
• quality (including records and training)
• contract program
• control of traffic
• site preparation
• utility management (e.g. Dial Before You Dig plans)
• making good all disturbances
• disposable of any waste materials to an authorised waste management centre.
