Fire Protection Systems Maintenance Services for the Metropolitan and Orange Area Substations and Repeater Sites

This Specification covers Fire Protection Systems maintenance services as and when required at the nominated sites for a period of two (2) years with an option for a further three (3) one year period extensions.

The Fire Protection requirements for the sites cover work in Substations, Communications Repeater Sites, buildings and the High Voltage Switchyards.

Tenderers shall note that the Order may be split based on the geographical location and may be awarded to different Tenderers.

Inspection, testing and maintenance shall be in accordance with Attachment 3 and the Principal’s Fire Protection Manual (Attachment 6) for substation and repeater sites. 

Tenderers are to allow for the following items of work:

·               Sprinkler Systems

·               Deluge Systems

·               Water Mist Systems

·               Fire Extinguishers & 30ltr Foam Trolley Extinguishers.

·               Fire Hoses.

·               Fire Detection / Alarms ( Minor Test ), 50% Smoke & 20% Heat Detector ( Major Test )

·               Vesda Fire Panel / Alarm System, Inspection, Records & Maintenance of Fire Panel.

·               Emergency Lighting / Records & Maintenance and Repair.

·               Inergen Gaseous Fire Suppression System for Relay and Control Rooms / Alarm Testing & Trips, Detector Test, Weight or Isotope Cylinder Testing.

·               Fire Hose Reels / Inspection & Maintenance.

·               Fire Booster Pumps, Service & Maintenance, Test Run Pumps, Flow & Pressure Testing and Reports.

·               Fire Hydrants & Valves / Service & Maintenance, Flow & Pressure Test and Reports.

·               Inspection and Aluminium Tagging / Date Stamping of all Field Equipment.

·               Inspection of Fire Doors at designated sites.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will normally be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, experience, financial capacity, and in some cases licences, accreditations, etc., to fulfil the tender requirements.

Mandatory Site Meeting: 10.30am Monday 17^th May 2010 at the Principal’s Metropolitan Area Centre, 200 Old Wallgrove Rd Eastern Creek.

Persons attending the mandatory site meeting are required to wear long sleeves and trousers, enclosed shoes, hard hat and high visibility vest as the meeting includes a walk-through of the high voltage substation. Persons not suitably attired will be refused entry.
