Tender Details

The general works covered under this specification include:

a) No.1 Transformer • Supply and construction of 6m high Hebel noise walls to surround the transformer. • Installation of drainage pit to connect area inside the new noise walls to the existing spill oil containment system.

b) No.3 Capacitor Bank • Supply and construction of 4m high Hebel noise walls to surround the capacitor bank.

c) No.4 Transformer • Supply and installation of noise abating Hebel panels on the inside facade of the existing 6m noise walls surrounding the transformer. The noise abating material is to be affixed to the inside of all 4 walls.

d) The construction work associated with (a), (b), and (c) above encompasses but is not limited to the construction/erection of foundations, support columns, steelwork, Hebel noise wall panel installation and earthing of steel structures. All work must be in accordance with construction civil designs provided by TransGrid (a copy of the construction civil designs are provided in the full tender specification).

e) The contractor shall supply all materials required for construction.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will normally be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, experience, financial capacity, and in some cases licences, accreditations, etc., to fulfil the tender requirements.

Conditions for Participation

Mandatory Requirements

Tenders which do not comply with the following requirements will not be considered.

a) Attendance at Site inspection meeting at the Canberra substation on Monday 20th January 2014 at 1pm.

b) Tenders must include all Technical Schedules completed.

c) Tenders must be for the whole of the Works specified. Tenders for only part of the Works will not be considered.

d) The Tender price submitted must be FIRM (i.e. not subject to adjustment for variations in cost).

e) Tenders must include a comprehensive Construction Program the requirements of which are detailed further in the full tender specification.

f) Contractor shall have an accredited Health and Safety Management System. The system must be accredited to the requirements of the following:

i) AS 4801:2001 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System As well as either:

ii) NSW Government Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems Guidelines 5th Edition and be accredited by a JAZ-ANZ Approved organisation prior to the Contractor being awarded a Contract to deliver Works and commencing work under the Contract on Site. or;

iii) Accreditation to the Australian Government Building and Construction Occupational Health & Safety scheme administered by the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.

g) Nominate and provide a resume for an appropriately qualified person to perform the role of Principal Contractor who will be appointed for the duration of the project.
