Tender Details

The Principal is undertaking the installation of a second 330/132 kV 375 MVA transformer at Waratah West 330 kV substation and converting of existing 132 kV line to 330 kV operation to meet future demand. To accommodate the new transformer installation and line conversion, additional switch bays and minor line re-arrangements are required at Waratah West and Newcastle substations.

The Principal will place a single civil and electrical construction contract that covers works for both substations.

Mandatory Site Inspection

A mandatory site inspection will be conducted as listed below to enable Tenderers to fully familiarise themselves with the site conditions.

Note: It is mandatory that all parties interested in tendering attend this site inspection.

All parties interested in attending the site inspection shall notify their attendance by telephoning Mr. Yousseph Ters on (02) 9620 0388.

All persons attending the site inspection must wear long sleeve shirts, trousers, safety helmets, enclosed footwear and high visibility shirts or vests.  Persons not so attired will not be allowed to enter the switchyard. 

 

Geotechnical Reports

Three (3) Geotechnical Reports are available and are listed in the Part 3 Drawings & Reference Documents Index.  Due to the size of these documents, they will NOT be available for downloading from the TransGrid e-tendering Website.  These documents will be made available (on CD) to representatives of those Companies who have paid for the Specification at the Mandatory Site Meeting.  If these reports are required earlier than this, please contact Mr Chris Jones on 02 9620 0268 or by e-mail to mailto:chris.b.jones@transgrid.com.au
