The Principal is currently developing strategies for the implementation of IEC 61850 in future substation projects which may commence throughout the Contract Period. Accordingly this Specification covers the Principal’s requirements for both non IEC 61850 (traditional) and IEC 61850 based IEDs.
The Principal is seeking offers for traditional IEDs in order to continue with its current substation designs until such time as an IEC 61850 based solution is deemed appropriate for a particular project.
IED’s under this specification shall meet the requirement of traditional and IEC 61850 systems. The period agreement shall apply for a three (3) year period.
