Tender Details

This Request For Tender HAC_2411081 Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) Specialist Mental Health Residential Aged Care Partnership Services seeks a tender from one supplier to supply to NSW Health with 15 targeted beds within a Specialist Residential Aged Care Facility (Specialist RACF) in Hunter New England Local Health District (Hunter New England LHD). The Services to be supplied are described in the Statement of Requirements in the Tender Conditions and Statement of Requirements.

The Specialist RACF model provides care for people who would be at risk of homelessness who are experiencing or at risk of long stays in NSW hospitals. These are specifically-designed aged care facilities with a contemporary model of care that includes additional clinical management and supported daily living activities for older adults.

Additional funding is provided for staffing and clinical support from the Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) PCLI team within the LHD. There are five established Specialist RACFs supported by NSW Health funding within four LHDs, each with capacity to accommodate 10-30 people in targeted beds. Ongoing clinical support is provided through OPMH services where indicated.

The procurement is a key component of the Pathways to Community Living Initiative, which aims to support a state-wide approach to transitioning long-stay mental health patients (who have been in hospital for over one year) and people at risk of long hospital stays into appropriate community-based services.
