Sydney Trains is requesting information related to the provision of transformer refurbishment and maintenance.

Sydney Trains operates a high voltage AC network in which the nominal voltages are 11kV, 33kV, 66kV and 132kV. The HV network supplies substations where transformers and rectifiers supply a 1500V DC network which supplies power for electric traction.

This RFI aims to ascertain the various suppliers capable of performing Transformer refurbishments for Sydney Trains’ rail network, including refurbishment capability, production of condition and testing reports, delivery lead times, transport requirements, associated components, installation, and maintenance manuals.

Sydney Trains is inviting a response from suppliers interested in meeting Sydney Trains’ requirements to enable assessment of the market conditions for this category.

The information gathered from this RFI may be assessed and used in the establishment of a sourcing strategy for transformer refurbishment that Sydney Trains may procure over the next five years.
