Train Washing Plants
Sydney Trains’ existing train washing plants were constructed in the 1970’s and are life expired. They are to be removed and disposed of by the Contractor leaving basically only the building, some in-ground tanks, the track and the overhead wiring. A new wash plant and control system must be supplied, installed and maintained at each site. The wash plants will be renewed sequentially to minimise the disruption to the on-going washing of trains. This RFT seeks offers to renew the Mortdale, Flemington and Sydenham train washing plants. Sydney Trains may choose to update the Hornsby wash plant and so seeks offers to renew that wash plant, but this will be taken up only at Sydney Trains sole discretion. The RFT also seeks offers to maintain the wash plants for a period of up to 5 years.

Sydney Trains aims to enter into an agreement with one or more suppliers for the Supply of Specialised Workstations and LCD Screens for a period of 3 years plus 1 year extension option. Sydney Trains requires a steady supply of specialised high end multi-screen computer workstations and monitors for replacement at Sydney Signal Box, Strathfield Signal Box, Sydenham Signal Box, Rail Management Centre and relay rooms at remote site locations. The Workstation is the user interface of Automatic Train Running and Information Control System (ATRICS) and allows the signallers, maintainers and signal electricians to view all train movements in their area and for signallers to introduce control function. The Workstations are a vital element of the ATRICS. The monitors being procured will connect to the workstations. The size of the monitors required is 20’’, 30’’ and 46’’.
